President: Leon Law (St Peters College)

Leon is in his third year of the OxWaSP Statistical Science Programme, reading for a DPhil in Statistics. He is currently focusing in the area of statistical machine learning, and how kernel methods can be utilised. He is interested in Big Data and its application, and also takes part in the university table tennis team in his free time.

Vice President: Elden Tse (New College)

Elden is a current fourth year MEng student studying Engineering Science, specialising in Information Engineering. His current research is on Autonomous Driving at the Oxford Robotics Institute. He is interested in swimming, gaming, and reading.

Academic Secretary: Alex Tsui (Lincoln College)

Alex is in his first year of his joint doctoral programme between Oxford and The Scripps Research Institute (California), reading for a DPhil in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biology. He wishes to combine ‘dry’ (computational) and ‘wet’ (experimental) lab techniques to elucidate the molecular mechanism of large membrane proteins. Alex spends his free time in the kitchen performing alternative experiments.

Secretary: Lucian Chan (Wolfson College)

Lucian is a first year DPhil student at the Department of Statistics. He wishes to apply machine learning techniques in drug discovery and speed up drug development. He likes running and playing squash in his free time.

Treasurer: Angel Wong (Brasenose College)

Angel is a first year DPhil student in Population Health at the Nuffield Department of Population Health. She hopes to answer reliably how sleep duration and other sleep patterns may be associated with major chronic diseases in middle and old age through analysing large-scale prospective cohort studies. She likes playing table tennis and hiking with friends.

Fundraising and Digital Marketing Officer: Monin Ung (Keble College)

Futurist Monin is a graduate student pursuing her Executive MBA degree at the Saïd Business School. She was a private equity attorney with Magic Circle firms involved in international transactions. Monin finds meaning in life with impact investments, women empowerment and diversity causes.

IT Officer: Jonathan Yeung (St Cross College)

Jonathan is a current first year MPhil student studying Traditional East Asia. His research will focus on cultural interactions between China and Japan, as well as the West with the East Asia region in general. Jonathan has spent three years in Oxford already, having finished a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He is interested in current affairs, biking, and history.
